Pratt institute // Furniture Design
The design directive was to create a piece of furniture out of cardboard that would hold the weight of its intended use. Design inspiration was drawn from A-shaped structures, self-supporting cardboard boxes, and Japanese construction. Joinery used is simple, organic, and free of adhesives.
Pallet Table
This project was inspired by a friend’s outdoor pallet table. It was simply a shipping pallet with legs screwed on the bottom. I had about five pallets in my shop and wanted to explore building out a more developed piece of furniture that was honest about what the material was and its origins.
East Missoula kitchen
This kitchen and living area was remodeled with warm, modern finishes and a new hickory floor while not straying too far from the rustic intention of the original builder.
Normandy Park Kitchen
Drawing from the mid-century style of the house and the natural, wooded setting, the design choices for this project focused on minimalism, functionality, space, and organic tones.
Normandy Park Guest Bathroom
Formerly a bathroom plain and tiny, a forgotten box in need of an identity. I swapped out the vanity for a small wall-mounted sink, fresh flooring was installed, and custom wood work connects the room with the rest of the home.
